Just decide to be happy is only part of the puzzle. The bible states "as a man thinks so is he" but we need power outside of ourself to have effective change we need the Holy Spirit to empower us.Good things do not eminate from us but from a loving God who"provides all good things". Keep the faith.

When our kids were young,we lived out in the sticks, so we soemtimes let them steer down our street. Now we alllive in the 'burbs, so I don't think the grandkids will have that experience!

I'm glad that at 12 you knew what you wanted to be when you grew up and became an adult.maybe I'm strange but I still don't know what I want to be or do when I grow up.I remember well the school meeting for parents and kids going into grade 9 (highschool). They expected kids 14-15 years old to pick courses to streamline a career, one father said at 50 ( I'm 48)although fairly wealthy and a successful business man, he still didn't know what career he wanted and it is insane to ask kids what they want to do at that age.that being said my own son new from a very young age he was going to be either a policeman or in the army . he started working on that in school and now is in the army.so I guess some figure it out early while others like me never do. Keep the faith.

I've only now actually read it, but the title cut deep. I've been going over my life in great detail the past few weeks, and seeing your title....well, I DID know from a young age what I wanted to do with my life. The problem was not having the confidence in myself to pursue it. Oh well, I'm making strides now to have the career that suits me at this point in the game! That's gotta count for something!
It's great for you that you stayed with your dream! My daughter loves movies! And, most people say that she'll grow up to be an actor (she's 3). I say, as long as she's somehow influenced in a positive way - she can watch whatever movies she wants! Yep, even the zomnie ones!

what I want to be for the rest of my life.

I have WAY too many interests (many of them I got from books, movies, amd TV) and not enough money or time to check them out in depth.

P.S. I am older than you.

I used to watch Bruce Lee movies with my dad when I was two. He'd say, "are you ready for bed"... and since I took power naps back then, I really wasn't. I wanted to watch the rest of the movie! I am thankful my parents let me watch movies. :)

I wanted to be a writer in the fourth grade and for most of my life but studied engineering at first in college. I then wised up and became an english major.

I remember my dad would have me sit on his lap when I was little and drive his station wagon. I have a vivid memory of the car heading for a ditch and my dad grabbing the wheel at the last minute. lol. They're probably smart to play a game of pretend for now!
