We have a little boy in our congregation, four years old, who needs a kidney transplant. He has been in deteriorating condition for more than a year. He has been at the top of the list of recipients for quite a while, but he has a condition that has limited the number of possible donors. His body does not have a bacteria in his system that more than eighty percent of the population has. If he were to be given a kidney with the bacteria, his body would reject it and put him in jeopardy. Needless to say we have been praying for Jonathan to get his transplant soon!
About half an hour ago I got a call to let me know that a kidney has been found, the match is confirmed and J-beau, as his mom calls him, will go into surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston at six am tomorrow.
I am giving thanks tonight and going to the hospital very early in the morning to sit with Jonathan’s mom during the surgery! I bet she will never forget this Halloween Day!
and the hope of a future. Yet, there is anguish somewhere over the loss of a loved one who is making that possible.
This surgery is undoubtedly the culmination of many prayers.

I remember an office mate of mine who has a kidney problem and we have been helping her in her check-ups, medication morally and financially. This little boy will be in my prayers and I’m praying for a successful operation.

in that a kidney donor is one who alive. My wife donated a kidney to a friend three years ago and both she and the recipient are thriving. The joy of receiving is matched in the giving!

I hope your office mate receives the same kind of welcome news soon as we received last night. And please keep up the prayers!

How wonderful, and how ultimately selfless of your wife to love a friend that much.

though I found out when I got to the hospital that the donor was a 22 year old accident victim yesterday afternoon!

the boy’s mother was so happy this morning, each report made the tears of joy flow down her face. The surgery was a success and the kidney is already producing urine. The four year old has been on dialysis for more than a year, so things are much better for him this afternoon!
