Limbaugh: The Only Name You Can Trust

SEATTLE — A man who lied about being a soldier in Iraq has been sentenced in federal court in Seattle to eight months in prison.

Twenty-three-year-old Jesse MacBeth of Tacoma pleaded guilty in June to making false statements to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

MacBeth stoked opposition to the Iraq war last year by claiming he committed atrocities while serving as a Ranger in Iraq. He was never a Ranger and never set foot in Iraq. He only made it through six weeks of Army basic training before he was released for issues related to performance and conduct.

Above is the entire text of a news story about a “soldier” who….well, you have read it. I searched hard and found this small story in the newspaper and then read a blog about it on one of websites. I had heard this on Rush Limbaugh. Note, I did not say Wolf Blitzer or any of the other big medis stooges.

Now, this is a matter of public record. It’s all there for everyone to see if anyone wanted. So Limbaugh is not making any of this up. He is reporting the news and at the same time pointing out the bias in the media and the disingenous nature of the left in general.

Last year this guy made a big deal of the what our military was doing in Iraq. He was there….well………if you follow the facts he was not there. The left, big media, Democrats and liberals ran with this story. And it’s all one big lie. You on the left have fallen for another big lie. And do you know why you fall for stuff like this all the time………..it’s because you don’t stand for anything!

This is just another example, and I could point them out all day, of the left just being rotten. Wake up people on the left!! You are showing your true colors and stupidity in deals like this.

Sainthood Saturday

It really is a “saintly” Saturday. My parents and brother are here. They are going to visit for just a few days. And my Mother is a saint of the highest degree. It will all be fun, but short.

They are gong to stay at a hotel for the few nights they are here. There are several reasons. it’s more comfortable there than at my house. I don’t know that my Mom and Dad would enjoy sleeping with cats and dogs. And when you come visit my house and sleep my babies are going to sleep with you. Plus the hotel is by the Interstate and my Dad loves to watch the traffic. So it’s just better for them to stay there.

Last night they came to the house. We looked at pictures from my brother’s trip to Boston along with other pictures. We talked for a bit catching up on all the old news. We went out to eat a burger place my Mom loves. Then we got them in their hotel and left them alone. I know my Dad was tired from the trip. They all needed to rest. We have big plans for the day and I will write about them later.

That will be most of my day for today and tomorrow. We will be spending time with the family. I do have my chiropractor appointment this morning, but other than that it will be a Sainthood Saturday!!

(also I will make my LSU prediction right here. They play Tulane. LSU is superior in all phases of the game: LSU 55 Tulane 6)

Flight To Freedom: The Wallowa Valley Nez Perce. by Cliff Pyke

*“Here me, my Chiefs. I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands I will fight no more forever.”–Chief Joseph. –Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt. -Thunder Rolling Down the Mountain. (1840—1904) Nez Perce Chief

“Our nakedness is a metaphor…for truth…and our ever shifting realities…this world needs a leaders true…needs to stop, think, then do…needs love, and much more than anything…needs all of the above…needs help to stop the lies…oh Indian…Oh Indian where is your beating heart…where is your life’s blood…oh white crow where is your vital heat from above…where are your wise loving sons and daughters…not upon their golden seats? Where is it they may be? Send them true like arrows in flight to pierce the vale of lies and deceit. Help this aching world, give it meat…Oh dove of peace fly free before we are undone, bring word of dry land that we may quit this restless warring sea…come to us once again, warm this cold son…” –Cliff Pyke

In 1877 the federal government reversed an 1873 federal order instituted to remove white settlers encroaching on the Wallowa Valley and the Nez Perce people. The Nez Perce were threatened with removal forcefully, and were ordered to go to a reservation. Fearing the outcome of war, Chief Joseph took 800 of his people on a march to Canada, but not before a small band of Nez Perce, angry at the loss of their homelands, attacked a white settlement, killing people there.

During their 1100 mile journey through Idaho into Montana, 700 Nez Perce warriors fought the U.S. Army while making there way to freedom…Chief Joseph and what was left of his people, and of his warriors, surrendered at Bears Claw Battlefield, Montana. *The quote up top is an excerpt from the speech given by Chief Joseph on October 5th, at Bear Claw Battlefield, to his people and the U.S. Army that did battle with them during their flight to freedom…

…Chief Joseph died in 1904, in exile from his homeland, Wallowa Valley, now North East Oregon, according to his doctor “from a broken heart.”

…Check out the sites below to find out more about Chief Joseph and his life, his people, and their struggle to keep their freedom… and learn about many not so well known Indian Chiefs, their people, and their struggles to keep their lands, and what finally happened to them in the trying. Cubs Fans Are the Merry Ones Tonight!

The race is over and the Cubs are the Champions of the Central Division of National League. It is time to congratulate them and acknowledge their superiority over all the competition in the division, including my beloved Astros.

Chicago has had some exciting young players step up and make a difference, like Ryan Theriot. He is my favorite of the regular Cubs line up because of his passion for the game. The team’s fortunes began to rise when he was made the everyday shortstop.

The pitching staff was led by Carlos Zambrano, who went through a rough stretch in mid season, but seems to have righted the ship. Rich Hill and Ted Lilly have been very steady all season and gave stability to the team.

Derrick Lee and Aramis Ramirez have been the biggest offensive threats for the Cubs for a few years, but the addition of Alfonso Soriano has really boosted the run production and made the Cubs harder to beat.

I am sure that the pundits will dismiss the chances of the Cubs in the playoffs, but I would remind you that the National League representative in the World Series for the past three years has been from the Central Division. If that trend can continue, I am sure that themonth of baseball playoffs in Chicago will be a merry one.

What are YOUR Answers to These Five Hard Questions About YOU?

If you ask most people any question, then most people will somehow have an answer. The Following are questions I have found most cannot answer even one, let alone all five. So there we have it.

Ask yourself, honestly, these questions and record your answers to each, then re-read your answers. Next, speaking aloud, repeat each question and read aloud your answer, then make any changes you deem necessary.

    What am I?

    Who am I?

    Where am I?

    How am I?

    Why am I?

If you are have trouble, then try asking the opposite of the question, for example -

What am I not?

Also think back to an earlier period of your life and see if the answers have changed since then.

Taser stun gun trial over in NZ - would have saved the life of recent victim to police shooting…

A one Year Taser Trial Ends in New Zealand …

A one year Taser trial in New Zealand is ending; but opponents believe the Taser stun gun will be used regardless of the findings,

The controversial year long Taser trial is drawing to a close, but opponents believe police will use the device regardless of the outcome.

The latest issue of the NZ police magazine Ten-One says police have used the stun gun device 19 times in 111 deployments.

Criminal lawyer Marie Dhyrberg from the lobby group Campaign Against the Taser says the trial has not been transparent or independent. She claims that throughout the trial period police have refused to give her group detailed information about the situations where the Taser has been used, preventing monitoring and assessment of whether the gun is reasonable or necessary.

Ms Dhyrberg says opponents understand police need to use an immobilising device to help defuse difficult situations, but believe a safer alternative should be used.

The attitude of the New Zealand Government will be very interesting; will they be critical of the Taser trial itself, or will they want to be seen supporting frontline police officers. It has to be remembered that New Zealand police are an unarmed police force like the British police; firearms are available only when the need arises.

While the police and New Zealand Government continue to evalute the controversial stun gun, its need was never more understated with the shooting and killing of an out of contol man by a policeman in the South Island city of Christchurch in recent days.

The victim who was under the influence of party pills and had not slept for four days had run amok with a hammer, and directly threatened the policeman who was armed with a Glock pistol. He fired twice at the man, in the leg and chest; he was killed instantly. His life would have been spared if Christchurch police had access to Tasers.

Be Naughty - Read a Book Somebody Wants to Ban

Here’s a great way to celebrate Banned Books Week (September 29 - October 6).

Read Books That Are Being Challenged

The American Library Association (ALA) keeps tabs on challenges and we see these highlighted during Banned Books Week (BBW) every year. BBW has been celebrated since 1982.

According to the ALA, BBW “celebrates the freedom to choose or the freedom to express one’s opinion even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints to all who wish to read them.”

As we know, Jo Rowling’s Harry Potter series has been challenged a lot. If you’ve read it, you’ve already been celebrating your right to read what you want. (See how easy it is.)

The “Bad” Books

Here are the most challenged books on the 2006 list:

And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell

Gossip Girls Cecily Von Ziegesar

Alice series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison

Scary Stories series by Alvin Schwartz

Athletic Shorts by Chris Crutcher

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Beloved by Toni Morrison

The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier

Corpse Whisperer - A Suspense Novel Review

Novel Title: “Corpse Whisperer”
Author: Chris Redding
Author’s Website: http://www.chrisreddingauthor.com/
Genre: Suspense/Thriller
Bought From: Lulu.com (but it is available through most book stores)

Once I read the excerpt chapters of this novel online at www.enspirenpress.com I immediately purchased it. At first glance it didn’t seem like just another run-of-the-mill psychic trying to solve a murder story. That right there is a plus for me.
