When I was a little guy, my mom would have some sort of snack for me when I got home from school. She baked cookies or cakes or brownies. She liked to make pudding, even in the days before instant pudding was available. And it was one of my favorites. Sometimes we had butterscotch, sometimes vanilla, sometimes tapioca, but my favorite was chocolate.
One day when I got home, Mom was her bedroom changing my baby brother’s diaper. But that was okay, because there was a bowl of chocolate pudding on the table in the dining room. I put my lunch box down and took a big spoonful. That is when I discovered that there was actually strained spinach baby food in the bowl! I spewed it out, literally. The yellow wall in front of me was splattered with the yucky concoction! I had a time that afternoon cleaning that yellow wall. But I learned not to take a bite of something till I knew for sure what it was!

When you started off with the changing the diaper, I think you know what the assumptions we all could make were. That makes for an excellent narrative!
Fun story.

I laugh about that incident now, but it was not pleasant at the moment!

I was going to go have some lunch…but, I believe I’ll wait awhile.

I did hear you say you want to cut down on the meals didn’t I?

Hmmm, when I first read chocolate pudding, it made me hungry (not for the instant stuff, who uses that stuff?!), but I think I’m over it. Well, maybe not; there are few things yummier than a dish of still warm chocolate pudding with sliced bananas and fresh whipped ceam. Mmmmm.

the last time I had pudding that was not prepackaged!
But I can recall how I loved to lick the bowl when Mom finished a batch.

Ewwww! I change far too many diapers, so you almost got me with the chocolate pudding assumption. I’m so glad to hear it was “only” spinach.
Non-prepackaged pudding is actually quite easy to make, although it takes a bit more time. I figure that spending a bit more of my time is worth knowing exactly what went into my pudding. Hmmm….maybe it’s a good day to make pudding pops! Thanks for the inspiration FF&F.

has sparked lots of readers to make assumptions. I am really glad it was “only spinach”!
What kind of pudding pops?
