A Sailing Poem

A sturdy ship roams the waves,
The captain makes an entry:
“We apprehended all the knaves”
“Ahoy” - then cries the sentry…

Another mutiny! Not again!
The log is shut with anger
“The treasure island is a day’s
rough journey says ‘The Dagger’”

“Ye will be disciplined at once!” -
The captain’s loud orders -
But it’s ‘The Dagger’ now who runs
This vessel, far from borders…

And flows the rum and rests the log
Carousing sailors mocking
Imprisoned captain as thick fog
Makes hard an easy docking.

(to be continued…)
